Solar PV module manufacturer Saatvik Green Energy Limited has landed a major order from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), with the deal valued at approximately ₹1,041.63 crore.
What Happened
In a regulatory filing to BSE and NSE, the company said it has been selected under a tender for the manufacturing, testing, packing, supply, and transportation of solar PV modules made using domestically produced solar cells. Under this tender, Saatvik has been awarded a 600 MWp capacity package, and the order is scheduled to be executed by December 2027.
The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, along with an accompanying press release.
Why This Order Matters for the Company
Saatvik's CEO, Prashant Mathur, described the deal as a significant milestone for the company. According to him, the order stands out not just for its scale but for what it signals for India's renewable energy sector — the tender specifically required domestically manufactured solar cells, reflecting the country's shift toward a more integrated, self-reliant solar supply chain.
Mathur also pointed to the company's existing 4.86 GW module manufacturing facility in Ambala, Haryana, and a new integrated facility coming up in Odisha. Phase I of the Odisha project will include 2.4 GW of cell capacity and 4 GW of module capacity, with a further 3.6 GW of cell capacity planned for Phase II. He noted that the Odisha cell facility is progressing toward ALMM List-II enlistment, which will help the company better meet evolving domestic-content requirements.
Strengthening Its Position in Large-Scale Projects
This latest order adds meaningfully to Saatvik's order book and reinforces its standing as a preferred supplier for large, government-backed solar projects in India. It also fits into the broader push under the 'Make in India' initiative to boost demand for domestically manufactured solar components.
